And So We Begin

Let me begin this journey by letting you know that I really am just your average, run of the mill type of gal. I'm pretty non-descript. Blending in with the world around me is what I do ... well. I have a partner with whom I share my life. She is fully aware of my "home based business" (as we call it), and she supports me in my motivation to excel at it.

Day 1: I was nervous as hell this morning when I logged in as available. I was really anxious about the fact that two hours passed without a single call. I assumed that mornings would be slow, and I was right. I wasn't really sure how this would go, so I was champing at the bit to get the dreaded/anticipated FIRST CALL over with. I even called the friend who referred me to this business to see what her experience had been like on the first day. I was reassured, this was normal. She'd only had one call her first day. More than likely the operator was waiting for an "easy" call to pop my cherry, so to speak.

Finally, around mid to late morning, the phone rang. Caller i.d. verified it was "the company" with a client. Nervously I answered, I'm certain that my voice was slightly shaky. The operator informed me there was a call for me. She said this should be an easy one (I was right!!!) and that I'd be a pro! She told me which one of my pre planned characters the client wished to speak with and gave me the low down on what his preferences are.

Simple enough. He is in his late 40's and I am in my 20's. I'm to be a bit wild, but not too much so. Okay, let's roll. I take a deep breath, and voila!!! I was speaking with HIM!!! He was big into the small talk. That was nice, it was like sitting next to someone at a random event talking about life. No big deal. Just as the talk began to get juicy, BAM, he had to go. Maybe an hour was more than he wanted to pay for, but we were at the point where the call would progress rapidly. I'm confident he will call back and request me. That means I'll get paid extra.

Call numero uno, finito.

The next call that came was about an hour later. This client wished to be humiliated. That was probably the easiest thing I've ever done in my life. I sat calmly at my desk at home and ridiculed a man on the phone ... AND GOT PAID FOR IT!!! This was awesome! If it stays this easy, I'm so golden. Approximately 20 minutes later, we were done. That easy.

My final call for the day was a little more awkward. He was ominously silent. I knew only that he wanted a mid 50's bisexual woman. Turns out he wanted no small talk. Right to business was he. 15 minutes exactly. He told me so. No cares for me. "I already came", click. He must've had an egg timer or something. I'm the one who's supposed to keep track, not him. Sheesh.

Well, chalk it all up to a grueling day at the office. I'm scheduled tomorrow night. We'll see what happens. See ya then!!
